The Story of KRZYSZTOF

The story of this independent bridal fashion house began 15 years ago in Brisbane, when Polish architect, designer and couturier Andrzej Krzysztof Pytel began his first creation with a gesture of a dress. Formerly known as HOUSE OF EZIS, the name EZIS comes from reversing the word “Size”, a symbolic way in recognising us as a size inclusive house. The fashion house underwent rebranding to KRZYSZTOF to reflect the designer’s name and personal journey in fashion. The change marks a new chapter rooted in identity, heritage and design philosophy.

By exploring the way in which garments can be constructed and deconstructed on the body, each design is sculpted through considered folds and drapes. We constantly push the boundaries of silhouette and classical tailoring while redefining common perceptions of the “dress”. The culmination of these contemporary ideas attracts the modern romantic looking for a bespoke Australian bridal couture experience.

At the Krzysztof Brisbane studio, the designer works closely with local dressmakers Anna, Luda, Nathalie and Elena, who have over 15 to 20 years of experience manufacturing bridal and formal garments. Only the highest quality and ethically sourced fabrics are selected to create these exceptional pieces. We custom-make wedding gowns and a full range of bridal party dresses including bridesmaid and mother-of-the-bride designs. This close collaboration between designer, maker and client offers full control of the creative and production process.

We are located at the heritage-listed Shannon’s Building on 717 Ann St, Fortitude Valley in the historic Winn Lane Precinct. The boutique functions both as a studio and retail space founded on the evolving ethos of timeless, sustainable and slow fashion. We focus on creating the most beautiful and elegant wedding gowns with a contemporary artisanal approach. The Brisbane boutique houses an extensive collection of dresses from which each piece can be tried, customised and fitted to our clients. Our window displays our most conceptual and avant-garde ideas, evoking a sense of wonder and curiosity.
