FAQs

Do I need an appointment?

Yes, visits are by appointment only. This allows us to offer you an uninterrupted, personalised consultation with the designer — ensuring every detail is thoughtfully tailored to your vision.

How long is an appointment?

Initial consultations are typically scheduled for one hour. This allows ample time for a personalised design discussion, trying on select styles, and taking preliminary measurements. Should you feel that additional time may be needed, please let us know in advance —we’ll be happy to accommodate you.

How many guests can I bring to my appointment?

We recommend bringing no more than 1–3 guests to your appointment. This creates an intimate setting where the focus remains on you and your vision. Larger groups often bring a variety of opinions, which can sometimes complicate the decision-making process. We suggest inviting those who truly understand and share your aesthetic sensibilities, ensuring a thoughtful and harmonious experience.

What is the size range of your collections that is available to try on?

Our sample gowns range from sizes 4 to 12. However, most styles are designed with open-ended zips, allowing us to position the gown on your body — even if the fit isn’t exact—so you can visualise the silhouette and design. We are proudly size-inclusive, and every gown is made-to-measure to complement your unique shape. During your consultation, we’ll also guide you through styles that best enhance your body shape.

Do you make bridesmaid dresses?

Yes, we do. Many pieces from our eveningwear collection are beautifully suited for bridesmaids. A single appointment can be made for your bridal party to attend together for fittings. As time is limited during group sessions, we kindly recommend selecting up to three preferred styles from our website in advance—this helps ensure a smooth, curated experience for you and your bridesmaids.

What happens if I want to come back and try on the styles again after my initial consultation?

If you’ve already visited us for an initial consultation and wish to revisit the styles, you're very welcome to book a follow-up appointment at no additional charge. Simply reach out via email or give us a call on 0411 944 955 to arrange a suitable time. We’d be delighted to welcome you back.

I’ve decided on which dress I’d like to order, what happens now?

Wonderful — we’re so excited to begin this journey with you. Simply contact us via email or phone to arrange a follow-up appointment, where we’ll take your measurements and begin the process of creating your gown. There’s no need to book through our online calendar or make an additional payment for this visit.

How long prior to my event do I need to order my dress?

For evening and school formal gowns, we recommend a lead time of 2–6 months. Bridal gowns require more time due to their complexity—ideally, 6–12 months prior to your event. This allows for fabric sourcing, fittings, and any necessary alterations. If your event is approaching quickly, please don’t hesitate to reach out via our contact form — we’ll do our best to accommodate your timeline.

Delivery timelines vary depending on the intricacy of the design and the processes involved.

What is the average price of a Krzysztof evening gown or wedding dress?

Our gowns are crafted with exceptional attention to detail, and pricing varies based on the complexity of the design and choice of fabric. As a guide, please consider the following ranges:

  • School formal dresses: $1,800 – $4,200

  • Evening gowns & bridesmaid dresses: $2,500 – $8,750

  • Wedding gowns: $4,500 – $15,000

  • Red carpet and bespoke performance commissions: Starting from $10,000+

We are committed to accommodating individual preferences and budgets. For personalized guidance and detailed information about any specific gown, please feel free to contact us directly.

How does payment work?

Full payment is kindly required at the time of your order appointment to confirm and secure your gown. This payment reserves the necessary resources and production team dedicated to crafting your dress. Once received, our skilled artisans will begin the meticulous process of bringing your design to life—from sourcing exclusive custom fabrics to drafting a bespoke pattern perfectly tailored to your measurements. This marks the exciting first step towards your one-of-a-kind creation.

I’ve ordered my dress, what happens now?

Once your order is confirmed, our production team immediately begins crafting your bespoke gown with the utmost care and precision. This process includes sourcing your chosen custom fabrics and drafting patterns tailored to your measurements.

Your journey with us will include several fittings to ensure a flawless fit and exquisite finish:

  1. First fitting: We’ll begin with a toile (a prototype) to perfect the fit and silhouette.

  2. Second step: Draping the outer corset with your selected feature fabrics for structure and elegance.

  3. Third step: Trying on the corset top combined with the skirt to refine the overall look.

  4. Fourth fitting: The gown is fully assembled—final fit adjustments are made, the hem is finished, and any minor refinements are completed.

Throughout each stage, we focus on meticulous craftsmanship to bring your vision beautifully to life.

What materials are your gowns made of?

Our gowns are crafted from a curated selection of exquisite fabrics. We blend innovative synthetic materials that beautifully mimic the texture and movement of natural textiles—offering enhanced durability and ease of care—with luxurious natural fabrics such as silk, cotton, and linen.

Among the refined textiles we work with are Lustre Organdy, Tulle, Taffeta, Bonded Crepe, Mikado, Double-Sided Satin, Silk Dupion, Silk Mikado, Duchess Satin, and Silk Gazar—each chosen for their unique qualities and timeless elegance.

Should you prefer, we can also upgrade your design to silk, elevating the gown’s natural beauty and sumptuous feel.

If you have sensitivities or allergies to synthetic fibers, rest assured we can accommodate your needs with carefully selected natural alternatives, ensuring both comfort and sophistication.

Where are the gowns made?

All of our gowns are expertly crafted locally in our Brisbane studio. With a dedicated in-house team of skilled seamstresses and pattern-makers, we maintain the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.

Our boutique approach ensures a seamless, personalised experience, giving you access to every stage of the dressmaking process. We take great care to discuss each detail with you throughout production, so your gown is as flawless as your vision.

For our brides based in Sydney, we also offer a professional alterations service at our Sydney boutique, ensuring convenience and exceptional fit no matter where you are.

When do I need to bring my heels?

We recommend bringing your heels towards the end of the process, particularly for the final fitting when we perfect the hem. This ensures your gown is tailored to the exact length and posture when wearing your chosen shoes.

In the meantime, we have a selection of heels available in our studio for you to try on during fittings, to give you an idea of the final look.

How long before my event will the dress be ready?

We recommend scheduling your final fitting and dress pickup approximately 2-4 weeks before your event. This ideal timing allows us to ensure a flawless fit while accommodating any slight changes in your body or size leading up to the occasion.

Can you make dresses that are not shown on your website?

Absolutely. We invite you to book an initial consultation with the designer to explore your vision. While we typically work within the realm of our signature aesthetic, we are always eager to embrace modern and contemporary designs.

Please feel free to bring sketches, inspiration, or ideas to your consultation — we’ll do our best to create your dream gown with all the changes that you desire.

Can the dresses on the website be made in other colours?

Yes, absolutely. We offer an extensive catalogue of over 200 fabrics and colours, all available to explore in-store. To make the most of your appointment, we recommend considering a few colour options beforehand—this helps us tailor the selection to your vision and create a truly personalised gown.

How do I care for my garment?

Most of our garments can be self-cared and hand-cleaned. However, please check the garment care label under the KRZYSZTOF label to find specific care instructions for your dress.

Do you provide in-house alterations?

Yes, we offer expert in-house alterations for all gowns crafted by us, ensuring your dress fits impeccably before you take it home. Please note that our alteration services are exclusive to our own creations and do not extend to garments made by other designers.
